A book, among other things: they are results, or maybe stepping stones, of an experimental writing practice that revolves around the intuitive, the unknown and the non-permanent. Blurring the lines between writing and reading, thought and material, body and identity, they attempt to expand the meaning of text. Maybe, in this sense, writing can become a tender tool for knowledge production and internal reflection rather than a means for documentation. “Dripping slippery letters, spilling subconscious thoughts,” whispers the vulnerable voice in the headphones, while the viewer is submerged into the waves on the screen.

Artist Biography Alix Stria is an interdisciplinary designer, who is at home in Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna and Zurich (in alphabetical order), currently graduating from the Design Department at the Sandberg Instituut. Obsessed with text and its texture, Alix explores words and letters, trying to find new meanings and coherences in-between legibility and expression. While thinking through the body and its relationship to text, they investigate soft words and hard language with all their fragile inconsistencies.
